Cisco Sample XML Config 79xx

Introduction

This page includes a Cisco Sample XML Configuration for XML-based phones, such as the 7945, 7965, 7970 models.

Replace Freeswitch_IP_Address, Freeswitch_Extension, Freeswitch_Password and Freeswitch_Voicemail with your own settings.

This configuration is tested to work as of SIP45.8-5-2S on XML based Cisco phones. G.722 wideband support should work out of the box and a sample speed dial entry is included in the configuration.

Cisco SIP-based IP phones will use DHCP option 66 to determine their call control server. Cisco SCCP-based IP phones will use DHCP option 150 to determine their call control server. If you are converting existing Cisco Unified CallManager phones to SIP, or they were purchased as SCCP, you may find it valuable to program both options into your DHCP server for automated TFTP software upgrading and configuration.

To reboot your IP phone, press the Settings button and then enter the following keys rapidly: **#**

To unlock your IP phone, press the Settings button and then enter **# and enter your phone's password. The default is Cisco and it is case sensitive. Since 8.0 series builds were released, Cisco has locked out a majority of the SIP settings from user modification - unlocking your phone is useful to do a factory reset or change your phone's IP address.

To erase your phone's configuration, unlock the phone as shown above, then press the More softkey and click Erase.

To get detailed call statistics on a call, press the blue Help button twice rapidly. (It has a blue Question mark icon on Global sets - i.e. 7945G)
